Marianne and Kristian are both Danish citizens and
born in 1954. Two truly talented and extraordinary individuals,
Marianne and Kristian are not only highly experienced world sailors,
but have designed and built two fine sailing yachts in the past
25 years – Nana, a traditional 68’ Baltic trader,
completed in 1981, and Casador, a more contemporary luxurious
68’ sloop, with sleek classic line, completed in 1991.
In 2005 and 2006 they have been refitting and upgrading Breanker.
They left Denmark in 1983 with their son Buller, then 10 years
old, and sailed with young people as a training ship for the
Danish government.
They sailed the Baltic Sea, the North Sea, the English Channel,
and the Azores. They cruised in the Mediterranean and North
Africa and sailed to the Caribbean via the Canary and Cape Verde
Islands. After spending much time cruising in the warm southern
waters of the Caribbean, the Bahamas, the Pacific and the Eastern
coast of the United States, Marianne and Kristian developed
a love for the tropical areas.
After completing Casador, they started their charter career
in the Bahamas and the Central America before finally settling
down in the Virgin Islands, where they have now chartered for
more than a decade.
Marianne holds an International Yacht Master 3rd Degree and
Kristian holds an International Yacht Master 1st Degree license.
Marianne also holds a degree in teaching and has mastered the
art of creative work with upholstery and canvas, having had
her own canvas business for a number of years. Her father was
a chef, and she was brought up with a love and interest for
cooking. Their extensive traveling has only served to broaden
her culinary horizons and gourmet options, creating mouth watering
delights for the many guests she has welcomed aboard for the
past many years.
Kristian, is by all rights a master shipwright, having operated
his own yacht repair and wood working shop for years, though
his education led him to fine arts, especially in Art weaving.
Kristian also has a passion for water sports especially for
diving and will be more than happy to share the fascinating
marine life of the Caribbean with you.
